DMI Laboratory & Consulting Solutions
Nondestructive testing (NDT) is defined as a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly-valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research.

DMI’s suite of solutions offers testing facilities and laboratories an additional tool for evaluating material properties for material testing including:
  • Fatigue
  • Fracture
  • Tensile Properties
  • Load
  • Compression
For welded assemblies, DMI’s is developing a tool for measuring residual stresses in welded areas. Surface or embedded discontinuities cause stress risers in the weld, which reduces the fracture resistance and fatigue life.

DMI is developing a first of a kind solution using DMI’s wireless self powered optic reader and on board patented software for residual stress measurement. DMI’s solution is based on ASTM Standard E837 hole drilling method which measures strain relief. which is measured by DMI’s proprietary ASTM compliant gage technology.

At DMI’s laboratory located in Columbia, SC we use our broad industry experience to provide our customers with high quality testing services. Additionally, DMI provides testing solutions for purchase or lease which include a one day training session to ensure full compliance and understanding of this unique laboratory and field ready family of solutions.

Contact DMI to learn more about our full service material testing, analysis and consulting, purchase and or leasing opportunities to add value to your laboratory tool box.
